From the recording I'll Wait
The very first studio track to be released from the upcoming full length album CONSCIENCE.
In Erie, PA we have a park in the city, and like many cities and towns throughout the world, a fountain is surrounded by park benches for onlookers to gaze at while giving their feet a rest.
You will see many couples amongst the riff raff and sincerely homeless, young families and widowed. It's where I started to get the idea of the perfect way to wait for someone you love.
I loved the sounds of the traffic, the food vendors, the various people passing by. There is a sense of excitement and anticipation in the air conveying feelings that don't necessarily have to be relatable. It's the sheer energy of the whole environment.
Lyrics
I'll wait sitting on a park bench for you.
I'll stay sitting here all afternoon.
I'll wait sitting on this parch bench for you.
A man in the square screams out "come and get it"
The line for his food is around the block for miles.
I agree with him babe, come and get it.
I'll be waiting here with a big ol' smile for you.
I'll wait sitting on a park bench for you.
I'll stay sitting here all afternoon.
I'll wait sitting on a park bench for you.
A little rain drop never hurt nobody.
I want to get soaking wet.
Don't bring your umbrella, it'll be fun I tell ya.
When we're wringing each other out later in bed. C'mon.
Now the sun is shining and the people are smiling.
Roll your pants up and lets dance babe.
You and me both agree ain't got enough for three.
Let's just keep it me and you, jump in a fountain of youth.
I'll wait sitting on a park bench for you.
I'll stay sitting here all afternoon.
I'll wait sitting on a park bench for you.
I'll wait sitting on a park bench for you.
Babe I'll stay, I'll sit here all afternoon.
I'll stay sitting on this park bench for you.
